Pulse Energy Congratulates Perkins+Will on LEED Success

Vancouver, Canada, March 28, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Pulse Energy today congratulated international architects Perkins+Will for the design innovations of their Atlanta office, which gained the highest LEED rating of any new building in the Northern Hemisphere.

The 1315 Peachtree Street facility is monitored by Pulse™ Energy Manager software, with data streams for each floor, lighting and mechanical load, and generation from micro-turbines and solar panels. These and other design innovations allow the office to use 58% less energy and 78% less potable water, compared to a conventionally designed building of similar size. The LEED score directly benefited from Pulse Energy’s Measurement & Verification functionality, part of the Energy & Atmosphere category.

“1315 Peachtree Street utilized a very detailed monitoring and measurement system for collecting performance information for all of our systems. The great thing about using Pulse Energy’s dashboard is that it takes this data and displays it visually in a manner that everyone can easily understand. We especially like having our multiple offices connected through Pulse Energy. A bit of energy-saving competition across offices is always fun!” said Paula Vaughan, AIA, LEED Faculty, Associate Principal, Perkins+Will.

In addition to LEED Platinum, the Atlanta office is already a recipient of the Urban Land Institute’s Development of Excellence Award.
