If There’s a Mailbox in Heaven Published by Outskirts Press

The author’s ten year old daughter, Christina, did not ask “Why me?” when she was diagnosed with cancer. Instead she proclaimed, “Use me, use me, Lord, for your Name and Glory.” This is the remarkable story of an even more remarkable young girl.

Huntington Beach, CA, April 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Author, substitute teacher and mother Celeste N. Bowers announced today the release of If There’s a Mailbox in Heaven, published by Outskirts Press. Bowers’ inspirational biography shows how her ten year old daughter, Christina, faced the tremendous burden of a cancer diagnosis with unwavering faith, a smile in her heart and the continuing certainty that her God was bigger than any cancer.

“It’s not about me. It’s about Christ working through me.” So spoke Christina to a crowd of two hundred people at a Calvary High School soccer banquet as she presented the award given in her name to the athlete who showed the most perseverance. With a white cell count of zero, but a heart full of joy, this young girl, carried her cross for Jesus, and forever changed the lives of so many people.

A remarkable agent of Christ and a vessel of unconditional love, Christina said to her mother, “Mom, thank you for bringing me into this world” as the first dose of chemo was being pumped into her frail body. Those sweet and penetrating words started the journey, broke down all barriers, and put everything clearly into perspective. Christina was thankful for her life and for every gift she was given.

Today, when the author is asked how she has been able to watch her young daughter weather such a terrible storm and then still go on after Christina passed away, her answer is simple: “How could I watch my own daughter carry her cross with such a sweet, gentle spirit for Christ and not pick up my own?”

If There’s a Mailbox in Heaven carries on Christina’s own indomitable faith and inspires others with her life lesson that there is a plan for each of us, that we cannot waste any of the precious moments we are given, and that we cannot be so concerned about tomorrow or our distant future that we fail to make a difference now, today.
