Symphony's Algorithmic Trading for Institutional Brokers: Opportunity Target Completion Strategy

Symphony Fintech, leading vendor of Automated Trading Systems for the Indian Market, today announced the release of OTCS - Opportunity Target Completion Strategy.

Mumbai, India, April 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Symphony Fintech, a provider of Automated Trading Systems, today announced the release of OTCS - Opportunity Target Completion Strategy. Institutional Traders in the advanced capital markets have traditionally used conventional execution algos like VWAP, TWAP, POV etc. However, in India, such conventional algos have turned out to be impractical. Additionally, such algos being offered in India by foreign vendors are prohibitively expensive. Given the unique set of challenges being faced by the Institutional Brokers in India, Symphony Fintech decided to come up up with a customized and affordable algo that addresses the local market needs.

OTCS addresses a common problem that institutional traders face in placing/unwinding large block orders of shares, which can comprise a significant percent of the daily traded volume of shares for a given scrip. OTCS tracks LTP and bid/ask price/quantity and places orders to exchange for optimal price/quantity. This is done through out the trading-day until the entire order-quantity is filled, thereby enhancing the overall buy/sell price.

"Symphony Fintech's approach to providing a turnkey execution strategy allows firms to go live quickly," said Sanjay Das, CTO, Symphony Fintech. "The strategy is 100% customizable and integrated into Presto - our Automated Trading System for NSE, BSE & MCX. This integration allows firms to add their own logic to OTCS rather than spend time on the underlying trading infrastructure which is already integrated with the basic strategy, with pre-built DMA connectivity and pre-optimized for performance."
