Southern Tier Dermatology Moving to Larger Space in Endwell

The Southern Tier Dermatology & Aesthetics office quickly expanding thanks to satisfied patients, personalized care.

Vestal, NY, April 20, 2012 --(PR.com)-- After expanding last year to open a new facility in Big Flats, a local dermatology practice is announcing it will be moving its main office to a larger office this summer.

Southern Tier Dermatology & Aesthetics will see patients at their new 333 Hooper Road office in Endwell starting in August 2012. This new office will be nearly three times the size of the current Vestal office that it will replace. The practice also opened their Elmira office in Spring 2011, which complimented the original location in Vestal, N.Y.

Owners Colleen Crandell, D.O., F.A.A.D. and Curt Fenkl, D.O. said the facility will offer state-of-the art technology and larger service areas to patients. The practice, which has thrived through recommendations and referrals from its clients, has outgrown its original location.

“Not only will our clientele experience a more comfortable space in the Endwell office, but our employees will also have access to additional advanced resources and vital diagnostic equipment,” said Dr. Crandell.

The new three-story facility will boast a full lab with tissue processing and phlebotomy (blood testing) departments. Also, on the ground floor, patients will find a separate aesthetic entrance and treatment area, otherwise known as a medical spa. This “medi-spa” is a combination of a medical office and day spa, where customers can receive laser treatments, chemical peels, injectables, among other aesthetic procedures, all while under a doctor’s supervision. A full line of high-quality skin care products, including moisturizers, cleansers, sun screens, and makeup is also available.

“At Southern Tier Dermatology & Aesthetics, our patients’ needs are deeply personal, and no two are alike; they can range from cosmetic to life-threatening. These resources will allow us to get our patients closer to having skin they can feel confident in, and our new lab services will help our technicians to diagnose serious conditions like melanoma faster than ever,” said Dr. Fenkl.

The second and third floors will house medical and surgical dermatology exam and surgical rooms in a tranquil and comforting atmosphere unlike the typical medical office. “The comfort and relaxation for our patients is as important to us as the diagnosis and care being provided,” said Dr. Crandell.

The young practice has grown substantially since opening in 2006, with only Dr. Crandell and a few patients. Now, Southern Tier Dermatology & Aesthetics sees approximately 20,000 patients.

“We’re proud to say that most of our ‘advertising’ is done by word-of-mouth through our patients,” said Dr. Fenkl. “Our patients are so pleased with their honest, proper and personal treatment that they recommend us to their friends, family and co-workers. We’ve grown our practice this way, and it’s worked very well for us.”

An additional ten people will staff the new office, with five working in the laboratory. They will be joined at the newly constructed Endwell location by the twenty employees currently located in the Vestal office. Eight people are currently employed at the Big Flats location as well.

“Our growth is all thanks to our valued patients. Their feedback is how we’ve made a name for ourselves, and we are excited to continue bringing comprehensive dermatology services to the community,” said Dr. Crandell.

“We are very excited for the move for our patients and staff. Not only do we get to provide additional jobs within the community but it also enables us to completely rebuild a building that has otherwise sat vacant to make it a nicer landmark for the community,” said Dr. Fenkl.

Southern Tier Dermatology & Aesthetics will invest about $1.5 million in the acquisition, renovation and equipping of the new facility in Endwell. The Big Flats location represented an approximately $200,000 investment in the community. Southern Tier Dermatology & Aesthetics was the prime sponsor of the annual Southern Tier Health Fair in Johnson City on April 14th and had a couple of the providers present so they could speak with the public which enabled them to learn more about the company and services provided. The company also provided free facial screenings (through Dermaview), gave away free skin care products, and raffled away a free cosmetic consultation and two skin care gift baskets.
