University Of Wisconsin Badgers Select FieldTurf...Again

Camp Randall Stadium getting a brand new FieldTurf surface – the stadium’s second FieldTurf surface is replacing the previous nine year-old FieldTurf field installed in 2003.

Madison, WI, June 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The University of Wisconsin Badgers are getting a new high performance FieldTurf synthetic turf surface at Camp Randall Stadium. The installation of the new FieldTurf field is near complete.

Wisconsin has a long history with FieldTurf. In 2003, the Badgers installed FieldTurf at Camp Randall Stadium and also at the McClain Center practice facility in order to provide UW players with an exceptional product in the areas of performance, resiliency, appearance, and overall quality. Nine years later, when it came time to replace the heavily-used Camp Randall Stadium field, the same conclusions remained true. The University of Wisconsin has selected the best for the second time in a row.

“We have been playing on FieldTurf for nearly a decade and I can tell you it is without a doubt the best artificial turf surface for football,” said UW Head Coach Bret Bielema. “The new FieldTurf field will only enhance the many safety and performance benefits that our players gain by playing on FieldTurf. We have played on many other types of turf systems and nothing compares to an authentic FieldTurf field. We can’t wait to get going on our brand new FieldTurf surface – the guys are really excited to get out there.”

The Badgers have enjoyed a great deal of success in Camp Randall Stadium on FieldTurf over the years. Their current 16-game home winning streak is the second-longest in the country. Wisconsin also has the third-best home record in the country since 2004 (50-4) while the program is also tied for the most home wins in the country since 2004. In addition, the team has only lost three home games in Coach Bielema’s six seasons as head coach.

“The Wisconsin Badgers are one of our long-standing clients and we could not be happier that they continue to trust in our product and our company,” said FieldTurf President Eric Daliere. “Our relationship with Wisconsin athletics is one that we value a great deal. Their reputation for excellence across all facets of the Badger organization is parallel to the amount of attention and quality-focused detail that goes into manufacturing and installing a FieldTurf surface.”

Specially sized cryogenic rubber particles and washed silica sand granules are layered, in a patented installation process, surrounding the FieldTurf fibers. This provides ideal player safety and outstanding durability and longevity. The FieldTurf system is the only turf product in the world with independent long-term and real-life safety data backing up its claims.

In addition to the University of Wisconsin, the list of major universities who play their home games on FieldTurf includes Nebraska, Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, West Virginia, Kansas State, Illinois, Illinois State, Missouri, Texas, Texas Tech, Iowa, Rutgers, Syracuse, Cincinnati and Louisville. Twenty-two of the NFL's 32 teams have chosen FieldTurf in their stadiums and/or practice facilities.
