New Smyrna Beach, FL, June 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Outskirts Press, Inc. has published Glimpses of the Past: Letters From Overseas by Donald F. Megnin. Living and working overseas is an experience which many desire, but few achieve. The author represented Syracuse University on a two year lectureship to Chulalongkorn University during the mid fifties teaching English to Thai students. Not only was his experience unique, but it was a fascinating test of moral endurance living among men and women who were interested in achieving whatever satisfaction they could for whatever price was afforded. He also traveled extensively throughout Asia with a series of once in a lifetime exposures to travel, encounters, expectations and interactions among all levels of local and international society wherever he went. Whether trekking several miles barefoot through the flooded rice fields into the village of one of his students or encountering villagers in Bali carrying foods of various kinds on their heads to their local temples for distribution, the author never failed to record his impressions and thoughts concerning the significance of what he was doing, seeing or thinking.

Glimpses of the Past: Letters From Overseas reflects the unique experiences which everyone has, but few are able to encapsulate as a meaningful expression of what they remember and never forget.
