Worcester, United Kingdom, August 18, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Expanding technology company, Postcode Anywhere’s inaugural Graduate Day held back in July at Worcester Rugby Club proved to be a great success.

The itinerary for the "full on" day’s event was devised with the help of The People Experts™, a local recruitment specialist that utilises social media and team exercises to find and assess candidates to make sure the employer and the employee are a perfect fit.

Twenty-two candidates came along to the day, including graduates from Aston, Birmingham, Keele and Worcester Universities.

Although many of the graduates studied for degrees at universities located throughout the West Midlands, the majority of them lived and were educated locally.

For Postcode Anywhere the day presented an opportunity to share its vision and growth plans with potential employees that are interested in technology as a career. The company is currently preparing to move to an extensive "state-of-the-art" corporate headquarters on Worcester’s waterfront in Diglis Basin.

Adam Laidler, Director, The People Experts™ who ran the event said: “The event was not just about putting the candidates through their paces. It was more focussed on providing an insight into the culture of Postcode Anywhere to see if they possessed the right attitudes and mind-set to fit in. Candidates were given the opportunity to showcase their skills in an informal environment.”

Postcode Anywhere wanted to demonstrate what it’s really like to work at a cutting-edge technology company. A career in IT can be very rewarding and the company has an expanding sales and support team. And for those candidates that possessed creative skills such as PR, graphic design and copywriting, the marketing department is also growing rapidly.

Councillor Marc Baylis, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member with responsibility for economic prosperity, supported the event and said: “It’s very encouraging for us as a City to hear that there are businesses thriving and expanding against the backdrop of a difficult economic climate.

“Many graduates are naturally feeling a little daunted by, what is generally considered, the lack of opportunities available to them currently and this event, apart from being very enjoyable and informative, sent out some very positive and motivating messages to the delegates that attended.”
