Yancey Edwards Presents the 3rd Annual Blackout Awards

Beauty, Entertainment, and Fashion's Elite Event to Honor Top Celebrity Fashion Stylists, Designers, Industry Key Players, Hair Stylists, Make-Up Artists and Photographers

South Orange, NJ, September 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Blackout Awards returns for the third time with a stellar line-up of honorees from all creative walks of life. The impressive awards event hosted by Award winning radio personality, Toya Beasley was created to celebrate the eclectic talents behind the scenes of the entertainment industry. The highly anticipated event will take place on Sunday, September 23, 2012 in South Orange, NJ from 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM at the stylish South Orange Performing Arts Center.

The 2012 Blackout Awards will honor distinguished hair guru, Ted Gibson with the Vanguard Award; entrepreneur, manager and executive producer Mona Scott-Young with the Naomi Sims of Excellence Award. This amazing duo will be honored for their years of dedication in their varied fields of expertise.

The 3rd Annual event will also honor this year's Blackout 7 which consists of an impressive selection of some of the creative industry's elite: Chuck Amos, Derek J, Johnny Wright, Kym Lee, Matthew Jordan Smith, Stevie Boi, and Tippi Shorter.

The Blackout Awards will also award skin care entrepreneur, Dawn Fitch with the first-ever Blackout Entrepreneur Award. A portion of proceeds from The Blackout Awards and philanthropic benefactor, AMPRO Pro Styl will be donated to the first ever Blackout Awards HIV/AIDS foundation.

The BOAs will top off the awards event with a special tribute to musical icon, Whitney Houston with performances by Elisabeth Withers, SuSu Bobien, and Sonyae Elise. Along with surprise guests throughout the show and a special Miss Jessie’s VIP Lounge.
