California Skin Institute Expands to Monterey

Monterey, CA, October 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- California Skin Institute, California’s largest private practice dermatology group, has opened a new location in Monterey, California. The new location will join CSI’s existing Northern California locations in Mountain View, San Jose - Los Gatos, Saratoga, Los Altos, San Mateo and two convenient locations in San Francisco. The new Monterey office is located on 9781 Blue Larkspur Road near Laguna Seca Golf Ranch, and represents California Skin Institutes southernmost location. The new office was opened in order to provide patients in the Monterey, Carmel, Carmel Valley, Pacific Grove, Salinas, and Seaside communities a more convenient location for CSI's innovative Silicon Valley technologies and techniques.

Dr. Daria Maldonado-Knapp, M.D., will head the Monterey location, and will offer a complete range of cosmetic and dermatologic services. Dr. Maldonado-Knapp M.D. is a Stanford trained and board certified dermatologist with over 15 years experience. She obtained a B.A. magna cum laude in Molecular Biology and Biophysics from Yale University. After graduating from Yale she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study Molecular Biology at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg, Germany. In 1991, Dr. Maldonado-Knapp graduated from Stanford Medical School where she was recognized with High Honors for her work in medical immunology research. She then completed the and internship and prestigious dermatology residency at Stanford University Medical Center in 1995 just prior to opening her Monterey dermatology practice. Dr. Maldonado-Knapp specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair, and nails with additional expertise in laser and cosmetic dermatology, skin cancer recognition, and treatment of sun damaged skin.

The Monterey location is slated to offer a full range of cosmetic and dermatologic services. CSI founder and fellowship-trained Mohs, laser, and cosmetic dermatologic surgeon Greg S. Morganroth, M.D. will be providing specialized skin surgery and advanced local anesthesia cosmetic techniques including Mohs surgery for skin cancer, facial reconstruction, and local anesthesia face lifts, eyelifts, liposuction, cellulite reduction surgery, and scar revision. The opening of the new Monterey location further establishes California Skin Institute’s dedication to offering high quality and state-of-the-art dermatological services in a convenient and professional clinic environment.
