Morrisons iPad Magazine Gives Readers the Ability to Create Personal Digital Cookbooks

Albrighton, United Kingdom, October 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The recently launched bi-monthly iPad magazine from supermarket chain Morrisons - Morrisons Magazine, now includes a feature which allows readers to store pages into a ‘My Recipes’ section. This addition was created with functionality included within the GoMobile InDesign publishing system from Oppolis Software. The end result allows users to view any saved recipes, from any downloaded Morrisons magazines, independent of the current or past issues. In effect, this gives the reader their very own digital cookbook, which they can browse at any time from the Morrisons app homepage.

The ‘My Recipes’ feature is created using the scrapbook function included within GoMobile and is in addition to the standard bookmarking functionality. Any content added to the ‘My Recipes’ section is retained, even if the user deletes the issue the pages were taken from. This allows readers to remove old publications, whilst keeping content that they find useful for viewing at a later date.

“We’re seeing more and more creative ways to engage with the end-user, using the unique features included within the GoMobile publishing system,” said Oppolis Managing Director Jon Simcox. “The Morrrisons Magazine use of the scrapbook feature is a perfect example of this.”

“Alongside the ‘My Recipes’ feature, users of the GoMobile system can tailor their digital publications to suit their current requirements. They’re able to create static ‘pinch and zoom’ PDFs - from their existing print document files, full high definition and interactive publications - as Morrisons currently do, or a mixture of the two solutions. No other publishing system on the market offers all three solutions with a single product.”

The Morrisons Magazine iPad publication launched in March 2012 and is created by London-based Result Customer Communications whom have over 28 years experience working with some of the UK’s biggest brands.

Oppolis Software has been producing software solutions for the print and digital publishing sectors since 2003. The GoMobile system launched in 2010 and allows publishers the ability to create digital publications, from their current print files, through InDesign.
