Detroit, MI, November 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Wayne State is one of a select group of schools throughout the country invited to participate this fall term in the America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA) Collegiate Energy Challenge. ANGA exists to promote the economic, environmental and national security benefits of greater use of clean, abundant, domestic natural gas. Students in advertising media relations have created an in-class working marketing agency, named D-Pact, which is responsible for researching, implementing and evaluating an integrated marketing campaign aimed at educating and informing their local campus and community on the benefits of natural gas as an energy source. Each participating campus will be competing for the chance to present their creative ideas to industry leaders from ANGA at the term’s conclusion.
As part of the ANGA Collegiate Energy Challenge, students from Wayne State have a rare opportunity to put their education to work in the real world for a national organization. Students will create and implement an integrated marketing campaign for their client, using research surveys and other tools to learn more about ANGA’s target audiences. After the students have analyzed their research findings, they will then create and implement their strategy to raise awareness of the benefits of natural gas. Students will receive a $3,000 budget to help them bring their plans to life. At the end of the term, students will measure their success through follow-up research and give a formal presentation to the client summarizing their campaign and results.
“I am ecstatic to be given the opportunity to be a part of an organization that is so detrimental to our future,” Hawa Idrissu said who’s a member of the Wayne State agency D-pact. “As D-pact we will provide an outstanding representation, while creating awareness and spreading education about natural gas,” Idrissu said.
