Bloomington, IN, November 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- For years, New York University Ph.D. candidate Yuehai (Mike) Xiao waxed poetic on everything from politics, modern society and pop culture, sharing thoughts and ideas with some of the finest minds of our time. Yuehai has compiled the best of these insights and shares them in his newly released book, Crossing the Seas: A Diary of My Thoughts, published by Author House.

Yuehai's parents named him Yuehai (pronounced as “your-ad-high”), which means “crossing the seas.” Later, he did cross the seas and came to the United States for his master's degree and PhD study. In his study, Yuehai tries to cross the seas of different disciplines such as composition, psychology, education, linguistics, translation and communication, among others. In his life, he also endeavors to cross the seas of different cultures, ethnic groups, countries, perspectives, and political parties.

Thus, was born Crossing the Seas. The book is a collection of inspiring, awakening and profound thoughts Yuehai shared on Facebook, as well as stunning interactions with top political and business leaders, celebrities and scholars worldwide who became enthralled with his blog and Facebook posts. Among those with whom Yuehai interacted are three U.S. presidents, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, the presidents of China, France, Taiwan and Russia, Bill Gates, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber,Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Adele, Beyonce, Julia Roberts, and Selena Gomez. "Unlike most diaries, this is truly an exceptional book that sets a high bar for independent, critical thinking with thoughts and ideas that worth spreading."A reader wrote in his review of the book.
