Manila, Philippines, December 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Adelaida Peterson, 32, of Chesterfield was crowned Mrs. Missouri International on August 31, 2012 and will go on to compete for the title of Mrs. International 2013 along with 80 other women from different states and countries during the final competition in Chicago, July 16-20, 2013.

Peterson, born and raised in the Philippines, is the busy mother of three young children, ages 8, 6, and 22 month old. She owned a licensed day care business in Florida before moving to Missouri. She owns a photography business with her husband Mark who works as a manager in a nuclear pharmaceutical company. Adelaida is also a part-time model represented by an agency in St. Louis, Missouri. She also serves as an active community volunteer and advocates against human trafficking which is her platform while she is the reigning Mrs. Missouri International 2013. Adelaida has been interviewed and featured in the media in Missouri such as Chesterfield Patch, Fleet Feet Sports, Town & Style St. Louis Magazine, Ladue News Magazine, West Newsmagazine, St. Louis Review, and a FOX 2 News interview which aired on TV. In the Philippines, she has been interviewed by GMA Network News.

Mayor Bruce Geiger of Chesterfield City, where she lives, has officially proclaimed September 19, 2012 as "Adelaida Peterson Day" for her being crowned Mrs. Missouri International 2013 and her efforts in the fight against human trafficking.

She considers human trafficking — also known as "modern-day slavery" — as a huge global problem which is why she is giving a class on human trafficking in Quezon City, Philippines on January 16, 2013 Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. (venue to be announced soon), and she will also be the speaker in a human trafficking awareness event in the same city. She is scheduled to meet with Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, visit with World Vision Philippines and Bantay Bata (Child Watch) 163.

Mrs. International 2013 Pageant

In addition to each contestant’s charitable platform, International Pageants, Inc. supports the National Heart Association’s Go Red for Women program through volunteer and financial support. The Go Red for Women movement is dedicated to fighting heart disease among women.

The Mrs. International Pageant is owned and operated by International Pageants, Inc., which also operates Miss International and Miss Teen International pageants. It is the only platform-based pageant system dedicated to highlighting women’s accomplishments through community support.

Mrs. International showcases married women 21 to 56 years old and features three categories of competition, including interview, evening gown, and fitness wear.
