Shodeen Breaks Ground on Dodson Square Townhomes, Construction Begins on New Downtown Geneva Property

Geneva, IL, December 12, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The city of Geneva has issued building permits and construction is underway at Dodson Square Townhomes, a five-unit community of upscale townhomes to be located at the southeast corner of South and Second Streets in downtown Geneva.

According to Craig Shodeen, President of Shodeen Residential, two of the five townhomes have already been sold.

“The project plan and moving forward speaks specifically to our desire for more housing downtown,” said Kevin R. Burns, Mayor of the City of Geneva. “We are confident these discerning homeowners will enjoy the advantage of downtown shopping and dining, nearby public transportation and the overall convenience of living in downtown Geneva.”

As planned, Dodson Square townhomes average between 1,900 and 2,000 square feet and feature three-level designs each with three bedrooms upstairs, two-and-a-half baths, an attached two-car garage and are priced from $399,999. A finished lower level having unlimited and flexible possibilities: a home theater center, workout room, a hobby room or an office.

All townhomes have nine foot ceilings on the main level and vaulted ceilings on the second floor. Hardwood flooring is featured throughout the first floor and full baths boast ceramic and stone tile. The traditional style townhome will be brick exteriors.

According to Shodeen, the gourmet kitchens in these townhomes will appeal to any at-home chef excited with upscale stainless steel appliances such as a Wolf range and Subzero refrigerator, along with granite countertops and custom cabinetry.

Dodson Place marks the third downtown Geneva residential property from the Shodeen companies and the next in a series of numerous projects throughout Geneva and the Fox River Valley. It will join the nearby Dodson Place Residential Homes, Apartments and Retail on Third Street and River North Condominiums north of Rt. 38 and east of Rt. 31.

“We are thrilled that Shodeen will be building these townhomes; their proximity to the train and downtown Geneva is so important to people who love Geneva,” said Laura Rush, Communications Manager for the Geneva Chamber of Commerce.

Gary Dudkowski, Manager of the Egg Harbor Restaurant across the street from the property is pleased with the news about his new neighbors: “It’s always good bringing more residents into the area. These townhomes are good for all of our businesses. Residents can walk across the street and have breakfast or lunch.”

Sales for Dodson Square are being conducted at nearby Mill Creek within Shodeen’s sales office located at 0N305 N.
