In the story "Road Salt," the series "Wings from Ashes" continues with Carol trying to make things right between Karla and herself. Neither girl knows that they each share the same type of relationship with their mothers. The only difference is that Carol's mom is and addict and Karla's mom is an alcoholic.
The two girls patch their friendship up and add a couple of new boys on the block to their renewed friendships. After circumstances and mishaps for the characters they all decide to take a road trip south in hope of having a bit of fun and freedom.
This road trip suddenly takes a turn for the worse when Carol's boyfriend begins using a designer drug known as Bath Salts.
Will Karla ever forgive Carol for all the trouble she has gotten her into?
The drug Bath Salts featured in this story is one of the new designer drugs that had been sold from retail establishments in the past couple of years. Because it is such a dangerous substance the federal government went into emergency action just last year and banned the item from being sold legally.
It is still finding its way onto our streets. This book was written to help make the public aware of the dangers of using this very substance.
