Malinda Koncar was recently crowned Ms. Pennsylvania America. She will compete in June for Ms. America 2013. Malinda's platform is Muscle Magic - ALS Awareness month. Ms. Pennsylvania lost her father to ALS in March. "My dad was an award winning magician. He made the seemingly impossible seem effortless. I would like to do the same. My mission is to become Ms. America 2013 to raise awareness for ALS on a national level. I'm ready to make magic!"

West Middlesex, PA, May 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Malinda Koncar of West Middlesex, Pennsylvania, has recently been awarded the Ms. Pennsylvania America 2013 title by the Ms. America® Pageant.

The pageant is open to women 26 years of age and up who are single, divorced or married. Titleholders from across the United States will compete in Interview, Fitness Wear, Evening Gown and On-Stage Interview. “Malinda really left a positive impression on our judges and we are thrilled to have her representing Pennsylvania at the 2013 Ms. America® Pageant finals this June in Costa Mesa, CA,” said Susan Jeske, Pageant CEO.

The Mission of the pageant is to celebrate the accomplishments of women, encourage them to be involved in community service, as well as use the “Crown for a Purpose” to make a difference. Malinda’s platform is Team Muscle Magic, ALS Awareness. Malinda lost her father to ALS in March of this year. ALS is currently fatal and incurable. “I watched my father go from being the strongest person I know, and an award winning magician, to being unable to eat and breathe on his own. I don’t think anyone should have to watch a loved one suffer so tremendously.” Malinda’s goal is to raise $100,000 in her father’s memory for team Muscle Magic – ALS Association Northern Ohio Chapter, Youngstown ALS Awareness Walk. Funds raised go to researching a cure. “Being crowned Ms. Pennsylvania couldn’t have come at a better time! May is ALS Awareness Month and I am anxious to make a difference and hopefully impact the future of researching a cure.”

Ms. Pennsylvania is hoping to win Ms. America to bring national awareness to Lou Gehrig’s Disease. She will also have the opportunity to compete for Ms. International- People’s Choice. The selection for Ms. International will be in part based on an online voting system and the most sponsorships.
