Founded in 2007 by composer and multi-instrumentalist Steven Antonelli, the New York Mandolin Ensemble performs classical and contemporary compositions from around the world. The Ensemble’s mission is to promote the mandolin family of instruments to audiences demonstrating the scope of mandolin music expands far beyond its most popular framework within the folk and bluegrass worlds to include music from around the world. An evening with The New York Mandolin Ensemble takes the listener on a journey through the planetary life of the instrument including bluegrass, classical music, Choro (the folk music of Brazil), jazz and Gypsy music, as well as beautiful Neapolitan/Italian songs.

The New York Mandolin Ensemble features Steven Antonelli (Guitar, Mandolin), Wayne Fugate (Mandolin, Mandola, Octave Mandolin), Roy Goldberg (Mandolin), Brad Maestas (Mandolin), Stephanie Mack (Bass), Chad Hammer (Mando-Cello, Cello), and Rich Robinson (Guitar). In addition to performing, all seven members also compose and arrange the orchestral material for the group.
