The Penthouse Club New Orleans to Host "Paint a Pet" Charity Event
New Orleans, LA, July 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Penthouse Club New Orleans has announced they will be hosting a charity event called “Paint a Pet” on July 25 at the Club’s downtown location at 727 Iberville St. The proceeds from the event will go to support Creative Expressions, a new art program designed for adults who have disabilities. The event will feature local artists Alex Harvie, TJ Black, and Skip Nola creating their own portrait paintings of Penthouse Pet Angela Sommers.

“We are proud to announce this exciting event for our clients, and even more proud to support such a great cause,” said John Miller, manager of the club. “We wanted to find a way to give back to the community and to give our clients a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience. What those involved with Creative Expressions are doing is truly inspirational, and we are extremely happy to support their goal and mission.”

Creative Expressions is a newly developed art studio program that was created by Crossroads Louisiana, Inc., a non-profit organization that helps adults with a disability live and work successfully in their community. The goal of the studio is to promote, support, and develop the artistic talents of those in the New Orleans who have a disability. With continued support, the program hopes to expand to include more artists who have disabilities in the community.

With classes twice a week at the Crossroads Louisiana, Inc. day program, Creative Expressions teaches disabled adults how to express their creativity artistically through painting, music, and theatre. Surrounded by wall murals that reflect the spirit of the program, the classes provide adults who have a disability the chance to get personalized attention and instruction as they explore their own artistic talents.

The event will feature local artists Skip Nola, who worked on a mural for “Pitbulls and Parolees” as well as Alex Harvie and TJ Black. The three artists will be painting their own portraits of Angela Sommers live at the event.
