Sandy Martial Arts Studio Offers Free Power Breaking Seminar for Upcoming Breaking Tournament
Sandy, UT, August 28, 2013 --(PR.com
)-- Last Saturday, Sandy martial arts studio, Personal Mastery Martial Arts, offered a free power breaking seminar for their students. The seminar was designed to help their martial arts students prepare for an upcoming tournament in September called the Board Breaking Olympics. The Board Breaking Olympics will be an exciting inter-school tournament where martial arts students will test their skills by breaking boards and bricks, compete against their classmates, and have a ton of fun at the same time!
The power breaking seminar helped Personal Mastery Martial Arts students prepare for some of the breaking divisions in the tournament. The power breaking divisions include knife hand breaks and palm strike breaks with either boards or bricks. The seminar was taught by Master Instructor Mike Jones, an expert power breaker. He has broken up to 12 bricks at one time and has helped many martial arts students learn power breaking for tournaments, demonstrations, and charity events such as the Break-a-Thon for the prevention of child abuse.
There was a wide range of students who attended the seminar from those who have never done a power break before to those who have competed in power breaking and even placed at worldwide or national tournaments. Everyone who attended though learned something new about breaking or received specific help with their break. Master Jones did an excellent job of giving each person individual attention and helping them with their breaking technique. He even had them practice their set up and basic technique with a real brick as a prop.
Master Instructor Aaron Doucet, who helped Master Jones with the seminar, said, “He had a perfect mix of understanding the technique but also understanding how much of the mental aspect it takes to break a brick. Master Jones mentally prepared and empowered every single one of the students who took part in this seminar to mentally visualize themselves breaking through the brick.”
