Winner Announced! ProActive Physical Therapy Wins Business Growth Award

ProActive Physical Therapy in Tucson, Arizona, nominated for the Copper Cactus Cox Business Growth Award, was named award recipient for 2013.

Tucson, AZ, November 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Nominees for the award were judged on their company's gross revenue growth, employee growth, and compensation expenditure growth over the past three years, as well as their business history and products or services. The judging panel also looked at what the company attributed their growth and how they have overcome any challenges during that growth period.

OrthomEd, LLC, the parent company under which ProActive Physical Therapy operates, began in 1998 with a vision to create a new form of healthcare: A physical therapy practice built around providers committed to guiding people to be proactive about their health. With a focus on a relationship-based healthcare model, ProActive was formed to guide people through pain, injury, surgery and other barriers that prevent optimal performance.

In 2002, due to philosophical differences, the founding partners of OrthomEd took separate business routes. The remaining sole owner, John Woolf, managed the one-clinic company, overseeing five physical therapists. However, in 2007, ProActive nearly closed because of a lack of strong administrative management. After a number of unsuccessful transitions, the company then partnered with Scott Zeilinger of The Health Care Group, LLC to provide administrative services. This move resulted in the most recent and significant growth in the company's history.

In 2011, OrthomEd, LLC again became a partnership with the addition of key managers as practice partners. The company successfully created a well-rounded group of five partners whose strengths and contributions are openly acknowledged and are aligned to support the company's mission. Mr. Zeilinger's expert knowledge and work ethic have assembled an administrative team that successfully supports ProActive's vision, creating a financially sound company which continues to develop.

ProActive Physical Therapy is now the largest private practice in the Tucson area. ProActive grew from one clinic to now 30 physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, athletic trainers, personal trainers, and massage therapists, all operating within five clinics spread throughout Tucson and Oro Valley.

ProActive has capitalized on the absence of a "patient-provider relationship" in most healthcare settings by instilling a culture of excellent customer service with expert knowledge to create a valuable experience for the customer. "We believe that the relationship is essential for a great outcome and we have embraced the customer for life' model," states owner John Woolf. Throughout one's lifespan, many challenges can be expected with regards to one's own ability to move and perform, not including the cost of treatment. Knowing that the typical healthcare consumer is paying more "out of pocket" for each health care transaction, ProActive has embraced a value-based approach to its service. To increase the value of its service, the company closely measures the rapport between the provider and patient at each initial visit to ensure that everyone in the organization from our schedulers, front office, billing and most importantly our therapists are making a true connection with each customer. Employees are empowered to do what is necessary to create this great customer experience. With a target of an 80% response rate and what the company calls its Net Promoter Score, ProActive ranks above 98% from over 40,000 patient visits.

In summary, the company has grown successfully by creating a bold vision of what a health care experience should offer: an environment of healing. Present to receive the award were Clinic Directors Jon Davison, PT, Bob Direnfeld, PT, DPT, and Brian Zukowski, PT, DPT.
