George Washington University and Kazakh Student Association Launch a $50,000 “Expo Village 2017: Innovation in Energy Efficiency and Saving” Competition

The Kazakh Student Association in Washington, DC (KSA@DC) together with the George Washington University are proud to announce the “EXPO Village 2017: Innovation in Energy Efficiency and Saving” contest aimed at attracting innovative projects and approaches in the field of energy saving and efficiency. The competition intends to promote scientific and technological projects in the field of renewable energy, sustainability, and green economy.

Washington, DC, December 05, 2013 --(PR.com)-- George Washington University and Kazakh Student Association Launch a $50,000 “Expo Village 2017: Innovation in Energy Efficiency and Saving” Competition for American and Canadian University Students.

The Kazakh Student Association in Washington, DC (KSA@DC) together with the George Washington University are proud to announce the “EXPO Village 2017: Innovation in Energy Efficiency and Saving” contest aimed at attracting innovative projects and approaches in the field of energy saving and efficiency. The competition intends to promote scientific and technological projects in the field of renewable energy, sustainability, and green economy. The initiative will highlight the importance of universities in fostering innovation and technological development while promoting economic development.

Teams of up to ten students representing leading North American universities will be judged based on technical content and feasibility, market potential, relevance to the Kazakh market, customer adoption, completeness of work, creativity, and innovation. The winning team will be awarded $50,000. Additionally, the sponsor, BI Group, will work with the winning team on potentially implementing the project at the EXPO Village. The organizers will also work with the finalists to bring their projects to life at the Expo 2017. The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony in Washington DC on January 21, 2014.

The Expo’s objective is to explore strategies, programs and technologies aimed at sustainable energy development, promoting energy security and efficiency, and encouraging the use of renewable energy.
