New York, NY, December 07, 2013 --(PR.com
)-- Beginning on the West Coast of Africa, Swiss Chris will lead students from the origins of rhythm and follow it’s journey to Haiti and Brazil, up through New Orleans, ultimately landing in the cultural melting pot of NYC. Participants will explore cultural history, the mental & physical aspects of drumming, basic stickings, official Swiss Chris warm up, basic poly-rhythms and more. This workshop is part of the first phase of an exciting musical program that will help kids from the age of 9 through 17 who otherwise wouldn’t have the chance to experience a sustainable approach to music learning beyond the school system.
Educational programs are being rolled out in New York, San Francisco, Dallas / Fort Worth and London to start, with rapid expansions to other influential music cities across the globe. This is your chance to get involved at the beginning of something beautiful!
Swiss Chris’ workshop takes place at Shapeshifter Lab in Brooklyn on the 15th December 2013. Additional workshops are being planned across the NY Metropolitan Area. Workshops will be followed up with public school sessions and individual scholarships for private music lessons.
