)-- During the last quarter of 2013, Grimes Trucking Company installed Qualcomm’s Omnitracs units in every company and contracted truck in the fleet. As Grimes looks forward in 2014, the newly installed system is already serving their communication and compliance goals.
“Our commitment to safety and service excellence requires us to continually review our methods and standards,” explained Michael O’Leary, President of The Grimes Companies, which includes Southeast carrier Grimes Trucking. “With the advanced technology of the Qualcomm system, our drivers and dispatch team will remain on the cutting edge of safety and communications.”
Adopting the Qualcomm system for the entire fleet has increased driver efficiency and compliance, as well as their level of customer service.
“Our experienced drivers have high safety standards and consider DOT compliance to be a minimum requirement. Qualcomm was a simple choice in helping to support our safety goals and improve communication, even among our veteran drivers,” said Ike Sherlock, Vice President of The Grimes Companies. “Overall, Grimes Trucking is not just equipped, but fine-tuned, for safety and customer service. Adding the Qualcomm units was the icing on the cake.”
