)-- Manifestationz Art Gallery & Studio is bringing in the New Year with new developments from its owner and artist, Omar Cummings. Cummings has been selected to become a member of the Raleigh RAW Artists network; a network of creative independent artists across the globe. His work will be on display in a special collection at the February 6th show entitled AWAKENING. Cummings is a self-taught artist who describes his work as “abstract art meets 70’s contemporary.” He opened Manifestationz Art Gallery & Studio in December 2012 in an effort to nurture and promote local and emerging artists. Always looking to help others further their passion, Cummings brings in visiting artists from all over the country to showcase their work at the gallery. His own personal collection can also be seen at the gallery, and at various locations across the Triangle area. “Every chance I get, I try to make sure I’m productive in the arts,” he said. It is this passion for expanding the art scene in the Triangle area that keeps Cummings motivated to produce new pieces of different mediums that have caught the attention of art collectors across the country. Using acrylic and mixed media, his work is bold, vibrant, and thought provoking. Inclusion in the Raleigh RAW Artists network provides an opportunity for Cummings to further his reach into changing the landscape of the art world, as well as connect with other artists. Artists are hand selected by RAW Directors for inclusion in their monthly showcases. When asked about being chosen for the showcase Cummings responded, "There is nothing better than being acknowledged for something that you love to do. Especially when you are being recognized by your peers." The organization has showcases in cities across the country, and closes out their season with an extravagant show called the RAWards in Hollywood, CA. The RAW Artists network feels like home to Cummings, as he is able to expound upon his love of recreating the world around him.
