)-- The hip hop artist Medal changed his name from Ken Haywood to Rocklyn Knox then to Medal, and he did so while his songs were available for purchase. "The reason why I changed my name to Medal is because the names I had before just wasn't right. I thought Medal was a better name then the other two, and since these changes were made I have had the name Medal ever since. I think I like the name Medal, because it means something to me. It helps remind me of what I have to do no matter what someone says, or does that is in opposition to my goals and objectives," said Medal.
"During the time I had the names Ken Haywood and Rocklyn Knox I made some songs that were good, but not the best. And I was going through some things in my life, and I wanted something to remind me of who I am. And most of all, I wanted to give my business name a good title as well, so after I created the name Medal I created a new name for my business. I didn't think Rocklyn Knox was suitable for the type of music I was making. But after some time I thought Gold Silver & Bronze Medal would be a excellent title for my music business which is also a name to remind me that I must do my best, and run my business in the best way possible said," Medal.
