McCoy Elementary PTA is a non-profit organization serving as a local chapter under the Texas PTA. The PTA's mission is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. They do this in many ways through countless volunteer hours and raising funds to help their students. The McCoy PTA has won numerous awards within the district PTAs for their consistent pursuit to increase involvement through increased membership, ensuring significant male membership representation, achieving 100% teacher/staff membership and for the variety of programs they offer each year.

McCoy Elementary has approximately 450 students, 60 staff members as well as a tight community of supporters and neighbors that are in close proximity to the school. McCoy is the only elementary school in the expansive Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD that offers the LEAP program. It is a nationally recognized program for the profoundly intelligent that is in addition to the regular "gifted" programs they have throughout the entire district. Many students are from other communities throughout the district vs. their usual neighborhood school including Irving/Las Colinas, Dallas, Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Addison and Coppell.
