North Branford, CT, March 11, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The SANS Inc. SCOLT Leadership Luncheon takes place this week in Memphis, TN, as part of the annual Southern Conference on Language Teaching (SCOLT). This event is an opportunity to develop connections and foster collaboration among leaders of the 14 state associations in the SCOLT region. Members from ACTFL, state supervisors and district supervisors, Shelby County Schools and SCOLT will also participate in the program, which occurs on Thursday afternoon during the conference. The theme of the 2014 Leadership Luncheon is "Strengthening the Corps: Building Leadership Across the SCOLT Region."

As the leader in the development of instructional technologies for language learning, including the SANSSpace™ virtual language learning platform and Sony Virtuoso™ and Soloist® digital language lab technology suite, SANS is the corporate sponsor for this event. “SANS is pleased to be a part of the important work that SCOLT is doing,” said SANS president Ron Remschel. “Encouraging and guiding language educators on how to take a leadership role will benefit more students so they can thrive in our 21st century global society. SANS is glad to provide support for this endeavor.”

The event features presentations from Paul Sandrock from ACTFL, and Dr. Bill Rivers from JNCL/NCLIS. The key discussion on leadership will be facilitated by Greg Duncan of Interprep, Inc. The focus will be on how to grow as a leader and how to foster leadership within and across organizations.

"In addition to having participants share successes and challenges they are facing, SCOLT is absolutely thrilled to have Greg Duncan facilitate this year's session. Greg is a visionary and leader in our profession and everyone in attendance will benefit from being there," according to David Jahner, SCOLT Executive Director. "We are grateful to SANS for its ongoing willingness to contribute so significantly to the profession and to SCOLT and I think this year's event will position us for even greater impact for our 50th anniversary conference in 2015 in Atlanta." This marks the second year in a row that SANS has been the corporate sponsor for this event.
