Huntington Beach, CA, March 16, 2014 --(PR.com)-- VMR Institute, a leading facility for treatment of disorders of vitreous, macula, and retina in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas, announced today that one of their own technicians and research students, Kenneth Yee, has been asked, by the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), to give a presentation at its prestigious annual meeting in Orlando, Florida in May 2014. This marks the third consecutive year Kenneth has been asked to give a presentation regarding his current research at the esteemed conference.

This year, Kenneth will present research done at the VMR Institute on the reduction of cataract development when using modified minimally invasive surgical techniques, as opposed to the more traditional extensive vitrectomy surgery. When asked, Kenneth had this to say about the invite, “I am honored and flattered to be invited to give a presentation at ARVO another time. As research students, we can only hope to be given the opportunity to reach such a vast, diverse, and significant audience as the ones that attend ARVO each year. I am so grateful to have this opportunity to share the important research we are doing with regard to delaying the progression of cataract formation by employing minimally invasive surgical techniques. I truly enjoy research work, and I am motivated most by what it can do for the future of eye care.”

The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) was founded in 1928 and is currently one of the largest and most respected eye and vision research organizations in the world. Its members include more than 12,000 researchers from 80 different countries. ARVO’s chief goal is to encourage and aid research, training, publication, and dissemination of knowledge in vision and ophthalmology.
