Cabaret Singer and Vocalist Mary Carrick Announces Release Date of Debut Album "Letís Fly"

)-- Mary Carrick, a Midwest-based cabaret singer, concert singer and actress announces the official release date of her debut album, Let’s Fly. The varied yet cohesive collection of American standards, musical theater, jazz, folk and country will be released on Tuesday, May 13, 2014.

A dynamic singer whose agile voice and evocative interpretation harnesses an impressive stylistic range, Carrick’s debut release centers around themes of wanting and yearning for what fills us, completes us and makes us feel alive. Interpreting songs by Leonard Cohen, Cole Porter, Joni Mitchell, Harold Arlen, Jason Robert Brown, Craig Carnelia, Hank Williams, Barry Manilow and more, Carrick takes listeners through stages of love, desire and life’s hills and valleys – posing questions, weighing options and taking risks.
J. Gawf, resident music director of Opera Omaha, serves as artistic producer and music director. Musicians include Gawf (piano), Eric Andries (jazz piano), Todd Brooks (piano), JB Ferguson (drums and percussion), Mark Haar (bass) and Kate Williams (accordion).
Let’s Fly was recorded and mixed by Marty Bierman at DreamTree Recording and mastered by Doug VanSloun at Focus Mastering, both located in Omaha, Nebraska.

About Mary Carrick:
Mary Carrick is a Midwest-based performer who is equally at home with the American Songbook, cabaret, musical theater, opera, jazz, art song, contemporary American song and as a stage actor. She’s known for her lush and shimmering vocals, her theatrical prowess and for her unique ability to truthfully interpret a song, connect with audiences and command the stage. Carrick resides in Omaha, Nebraska where she’s performed as a soloist at the Holland Performing Arts Center and with arts organizations including Opera Omaha, the Omaha Symphony, Rose Theater, one of the largest professional children’s theaters in the country, along many others theaters and for a wide range of events. She made her Chicago cabaret debut in 2012 at Davenport’s Piano Bar & Cabaret with her one-woman show, On My Way. She tours numerous cabaret shows across the Midwest. Carrick is the winner of the 2013 Omaha Entertainment & Arts Award (OEA) for Best Supporting Actress-Musical, along with other awards and nominations for her work. She is a touring artist with the Nebraska Arts Council and often conducts education programs for students in the communities where she performs.
