Certified Wireless Network Professional Develops New Certification Exam to Meet Industry Standard
Durham, NC, April 10, 2014 --(PR.com
)-- CWNP, LLC (Certified Wireless Network Professional), the industry standard vendor-neutral wireless certification, has announced it will launch the new version of its Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) version 106 (CWNA-106) on Tuesday, July 1. The new certification exam reflects the ratification of 802.11ac and incorporation of 5 GHz technology. The IEEE Standards Association developed the new standard and ratified it in January 2014. Compared to the previous CWNA-105 exam, CWNA-106 will place more of a focus on network implementation. The last day to take the former exam will be Monday, June 30.
CWNA is the foundation level certification for CWNP and assists IT professionals in starting their careers in wireless. The certification teaches the skills needed to successfully survey, install and administer enterprise Wi-Fi networks. Both the demand and salary for network administrators have increased in the last decade, and demand will continue to increase as the market and usage of wireless also increases. The main subject areas in CWNA education include Radio Frequency (RF) technologies, antenna concepts, wireless LAN hardware and software, network design, network installation and management, wireless standards, 802.11 network architecture, troubleshooting, wireless LAN security and more.
“The new CWNA exam makes sure our members are up to date with the latest industry standards,” said Brad Crump, CWNP president and CEO. “As a vendor-neutral wireless certification provider, we take great care to ensure our certifications reflect the most current industry standards so that those that hold a CWNP certification can be as knowledgeable as possible.”
