)-- Cheer Channel Inc., CCI, the #1 online news and entertainment network for the spirit industry, held open casting calls that took place in Los Angeles, California the week of April 1st and 7th for lead roles in The Cheer Channel's hit web-series, "Secret Diary of An American Cheerleader Three: First Crush" presented by Chassé™. Teenagers of all ages, many dressed in cheerleading uniforms, turned out for the auditions.
The open casting call attracted actors, as well as cheerleaders from local gyms and teams, many waiting for more than 2 hours to have a quick meet with the casting directors and producers to read their lines. Casting calls were organized with the help of Cheerleader Casting, a specialty casting service, that provides studios and networks with profiles of real cheerleaders needed for acting, background, stunting as well as dancers for parts in movies, television, web-series, music videos and commercials.
"We are continually amazed at the enthusiasm and reaction we get from not just cheerleaders and dancers, but fans who have watched the series and love it enough to come out and audition," said Lance Robbins, Executive Producer on the series. "Whether they have experience or not, there is some amazing talent out there, and we were very pleased with the turnout."
"In addition, there were hundreds of submissions for roles in the show as both actors and extras to play roles as cheerleaders which came in directly to our offices," said Cindy Villarreal, CEO of the CC. "The phones were ringing off the hook for nearly 3 weeks after our first announcement."
There are 6 lead actors to be cast, 4 female and 2 male, but there are many supporting roles that will be filled with real cheerleaders, including members of the "Cheer Channel Superstars of All-Stars".

Production will be held in Los Angeles in May 2014 with the first episodes to begin airing Memorial Day Weekend. Executive Producers and creators of the series are Lance H. In addition, the show will air on the Cheer Channel's DISH satellite network and in various cities through its television distribution deal with FILMON Television Networks.
