Duluth’s New Bunten Road Park Playground is Open

State-of-the-art playground in Duluth

Duluth, GA, April 30, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Celebrations are in full swing of the new mega playground at Bunten Road Park in Duluth. On Saturday April 26th, the City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Department held a ribbon cutting ceremony where the new playground was opened to the public.

“Not only is it a state of the art playground in Gwinnett County, but in Duluth it is known as the playground spirited by the spirit of play in our logo,” said Park and Recreation Department Director Kathy Marelle.

The new playground was designed by Kidz Zone, who incorporated the ideas of those who would get the most use out of the park.

“When Kathy had the kids pick which product they liked, they said we love the theme of this one. We love that we can use our imagination with this play,” said Park Design Sells Specialist Brian Sonney.

The park was built by Champion Recreation and funded by SPLOST. This project truly encompasses the “Spirit of Play” and the City of Duluth is excited about the new addition.

The ribbon cutting would not be complete without the Mayor, City Council and Parks & Recreation Advisory Board recognizing the Duluth Rotary Club which instilled the "Spirit of Play" in 1999. They funded and built playgrounds in two of the City parks, Church Street Park and Bunten Road Park.
