Burrard Physiotherapy Introduces Real Time Ultrasound to Facilitate Physiotherapy Base Recovery

Equipped with Latest Electrotherapy Machines and Devices, Burrard Aims to Become the Leading Centre for Physiotherapy Vancouver

Vancouver, Canada, May 04, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Burrard Physiotherapy, one of the premiere physiotherapy centres in Vancouver, has recently announced the inclusion of Real Time Ultrasound facility to their list of services. Already known for their usage of high tech equipment, Burrard Physiotherapy will now use RTUS to diagnose and treat deep core muscle issues more efficiently.

According to the spokesperson for Burrard Physiotherapy, RTUS is an electrotherapy machine that allows physiotherapists to treat and activate deep core muscles in real time. Explaining the difference this new device can make, the spokesperson said, “Better diagnoses means better treatment and expedited recovery. That is what RTUS is all about. There are stabilizing muscles that are very deep and therefore hard to assess, which can result in wrong treatment or exercise. RTUS imaging gives a better view of those deeper muscles and therefore, your physiotherapist can suggest the right treatment and exercise. ”

Real Time Ultrasound is essentially helpful for diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of stabilizing muscles in the body. Stabilizing muscles are deeper and smaller muscles that provide support and protection to joints and tissues. Problems related to back, lower abdominal area, and pelvis area are usually associated with core stabilizing muscles. According to the spokesperson, proper treatment depends on how well the physiotherapist understands the impact of a particular exercise on the targeted muscles.

Explaining a few technical aspects of how RTUS imaging works, he stated that the machine produces the image of deep core muscles on the screen. The physiotherapist can actually watch the effect of a particular exercise on the muscles. It allows them to measure the effect and accuracy of a particular exercise and choose the most efficient exercise for a particular problem.

A complete RTUS imaging session typically requires around half an hour. According to the spokesperson, RTUS imaging in Burrard Physiotherapy Vancouver is handled by professionals with proper training in operating the machine. Other electrotherapy services available at the facility include therapeutic ultrasound, laser, Muscle Stimulators, TNS, IFC, and spinal traction.
