New Model 7463 8-Channel CAT5e AB Switch Allows Both Individual and Simultaneous Channel Switching

)-- Electro Standards Laboratories, Cranston, RI, has just announced its new Model 7463 8-channel RJ45 CAT5e A/B switch. This manually operated switch allows the user to share a single port interface device connected to the Common port among two other devices connected to the A and B ports for each channel. The switch is certified for CAT5e compliance.
The Model 7463 was designed in a slim 1U rackmount configuration. The switch dimensions are 19” W x 1.75” H x 10”D (48.3 x 4.4 x 25.4 cm). The unit weighs 6.2 lbs (2.9 kg). The rugged switch is enclosed in an all-metal chassis designed to provide EMI/RFI shielding. The RJ45 port connectors include an A, B and COMMON for each of the eight channels.
Each of the channels can be controlled individually with pushbuttons labeled Channel 1 through Channel 8. They can also be switched simultaneously by depressing one pushbutton for 3 seconds. All (8) pins of the RJ45 interface are switched via break-before-make electromechanical relays. The Model 7463 maintains the last set position on power loss and continues to pass data. The Model 7463 is supplied with a UL approved 100VAC/240VAC, 50Hz/60Hz wall mount power module that supplies 12VDC, 500mA to the unit. The module features a 2-prong, US, non-polarized plug.
An optional wide range power module is available, Catalog No. 517277. This wall-mount unit is CE, RoHS, and UL listed. It provides 100VAC/240VAC, 50Hz/60Hz and features an IEC 60320 C14 inlet. This power module paired with the Model 7463 presents a powerful switching instrument that is ideal for applications worldwide.
