Slow Burn Theatre’s Production of the Musical High Fidelity Takes the Audience Through a Journey of Letting Go and Finding Real Happiness

Boca Raton, FL, June 11, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Audiences will find Slow Burn Theatre’s latest production, High Fidelity, to be extremely relatable as this musical explores the journey of a man who discovers the importance of work-life balance after a painful re-evaluation of his life.

Slow Burn’s adaptation of High Fidelity is a musical with lyrics by Amanda Green (Bring It On: The Musical), and music by Tom Kitt (next to normal, If/Then). It is based primarily on Nick Hornby’s novel which has sold over a million copies and was adapted into a film in the early 2000’s.

The plot focuses on Rob Gordon, a Brooklyn record shop owner who has an unhealthy obsession with making the top five lists for everything. Amidst this obsession he realizes he has spent the past years of his life observing it rather than living it. The final straw for Robert is when his girlfriend leaves him and he is forced to re-evaluate his life and lost loves. With a little help from his music, he slowly learns that he needs to let go of his self-centered view of the world in order to find real happiness.

High Fidelity is another Slow Burn Theatre production that successfully upholds the theatre’s mission of providing South Florida’s diverse population with opportunities to experience high quality, daring, contemporary and intelligent works of musical theatre through attendance, employment, and/or educational and community outreach programs.

Slow Burn Theatre will be performing High Fidelity at the West Boca Performing Arts Theatre from June 13th until June 29th. Tickets are available at www.SlowBurnTheatre.org, or by calling 866-811-4111.
