)-- "One is ever conscious of the transience of all things, and of nature’s smiling indifference, also that art is but imitation of nature.
"I can say that my work has been influenced by the Impressionists of Europe and by the Abstract Expressionists of America. They eliminate the boundaries of convention and allow the creative spirit to run free. My work with palette knife is like sculpting on canvas with all the means of expression and form it offers.
"The abstract works are meditative while the landscapes are born of impression, memories and fantasy, those endless paths through life that are the heart of my creative self. Art is long and time is fleeting, but to quote Shakespeare: ‘One touch of nature makes the whole world kin’." – David Snider
David Snider was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1950 and grew up in New England and Florida.
