Triangle Family Services Hosts “Feed Your Finances” Event Open to General Public on Saturday, June 21, 2014

Financial Stability Educators Utilize Capital One Grant to Provide Three Financial Workshops and a Free Meal at Golden Corral in Raleigh, NC

Raleigh, NC, June 15, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Triangle Family Services, a Raleigh-based nonprofit utilizing a grant from Capital One, and Golden Corral are partnering to offer free financial education workshops and a free buffet meal to the general public. The workshops will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 from 10:30AM until 3PM at Golden Corral in South Raleigh (3551 Grenelle Street, Raleigh, NC 27603).

This “Feed Your Finances” event consists of three financial workshops that focus on budgeting and ways to save, basic investing ideas, and improving credit. Participants who attend at least one workshop are invited to enjoy a free meal and drink provided by Golden Corral.

Golden Corral has had an important presence in the local community and is joining with Triangle Family Services for the second consecutive year. The event was well-attended last year and workshops received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Space is limited; registration is required, and can be completed online at www.tfsnc.org. If space is not available for everyone who wishes to participate, follow-up workshops will be made readily available.

“We are excited to continue our partnership with Golden Corral to increase financial stability in our community,” says Harriett Reynolds, Financial Stability Program Manager at Triangle Family Services. “This financial education provides the foundation which carries across all areas of need for clients, including securing housing, food, education and other services.”

In a recent client follow-up, a Feed Your Finances participant from 2013 wrote, “I loved the event and the food was great too! It was the first workshop from Triangle Family Services that I went to and I have gone to more since then. I learned a lot about budgeting from the class and also how to rebuild my credit. After the event, I met with the financial counselor for two one-on-one sessions and now I plan to attend the First Time Home Buyers workshop so I can buy a house.”
