NCVMA Presents $2,500 Animal Welfare Grant to the Mitchell County Animal Rescue

The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association Supports Local Animal Rescue

Spruce Pine, NC, June 27, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association has announced it has awarded a $2,500 Animal Welfare Grant to Mitchell County Animal Rescue to help replace deteriorated windows on the shelter’s dog kennels. Since 2013, the NCVMA has granted more than $17,000 to improving shelters across North Carolina.

The Mitchell County Animal Rescue is a nonprofit humane society that provides proper care for stray and unwanted pets. Members of the society assist law enforcement in cruelty investigators, offer low-cost spay/neuter programs for pets owned by the public, and provide in-school humane education and low-cost rabies clinics in cooperation with the health department.
