FarStone Releases DriveClone Server Backup Software

New software offers hard drive imaging and ongoing system backup for Windows servers.

Irvine, CA, October 25, 2007 --(PR.com)-- FarStone has released DriveClone 3.5 Server (http://www.farstone.com/software/driveclone-server.htm), introducing the company's patented disk imaging and snapshot technology to Windows server systems. DriveClone Server offers automatic backup and multiple recovery options for small business appliances.

About DriveClone Server

DriveClone Server creates a complete disk image of a hard drive and saves the image to another hard drive, to a USB device, or to a network location. The saved disk image can be used to restore a server operating system, to transfer all information on a server’s hard drive onto a new hard drive, or to copy a single system configuration across multiple hard drives.

DriveClone Server adds another layer of backup with automatically generated system snapshots, which are saved to a protected partition of the local hard drive. These snapshots enable fast recovery from software-related data disasters.

DriveClone 3.5 Server includes the latest drive imaging features from FarStone:

- Universal Restore enables the migration of a system to dissimilar hardware, regardless of hard drive size, installed drivers, and manufacturer

- USB Hot Drive allows an administrator to run an inoperable server off a disk image saved on a USB hard drive

Other key functions include PXE support, where a bootable disk can be distributed to any client computer on the network, and Volume Shadow Copy (VSS) support, which ensures consistent backup of running applications and databases.

"DriveClone Server is an all-in-one backup and recovery solution for small business Windows servers," said Andy Chang, FarStone Vice President VP of Marketing. "We provide complete solutions that are affordable and easy to use, so that small business IT managers can restore failed systems and recover essential data with a minimum of downtime."

DriveClone Server runs on Windows 2000 Pro, XP, and Vista server systems, and retails for $599.99.
