Ed Tang & The Chops Release Video for “When Death Should Find Us”

New Jersey rockers release a video for the first single from their latest EP.

Asbury Park, NJ, August 11, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Music fans are well aware that many of the biggest bands in rock and roll history have come from New Jersey. Always a hot spot for talent, the buzz begins in the Garden State and travels across the globe for a select few. Ed Tang & The Chops is one of the latest to earn the buzz at home and, with a big week ahead of them, they hope to write the next chapter in New Jersey's rock and roll history.

The band released a self-titled EP earlier in the summer and have a new video out for the single, “When Death Should Find Us.” The video mixes live performance footage with the band members acting as a catering company that doesn’t give a damn. Directed, edited, and produced by Kevin Mahoney, the video was shot by Zach Weiss and can be seen on Youtube at http://tinyurl.com/edtang

With a gravelly voice and a sound that’s reminiscent of a late night jam between The Replacements and The Pogues, Ed Tang & the Chops have been receiving rave reviews from music critics for years. Craig Manning in Absolute Punk said, "The shores of Asbury Park seem to be a breeding ground for throwback, folk-tinged rock ‘n’ roll… there might as well be something in the water in New Jersey that produces street-rat-poet rock heroes.”

A native of the Jersey Shore, EdTang is a product of the thriving original music scene of Asbury Park. "We grew up in the backyard of our heroes,” said Tang. “As kids we would ride bikes down to the Stone Pony to see who we could see. These guys were larger than life... and if we could just get our hands on some drums and learn a few chords we could be just like them."

The video for “When Death Should Find Us” will be featured in the upcoming issue of New Jersey Stage on August 15. The digital magazine is available for free and is available at http://www.njartsmag.com

The band’s next concert is on Thursday, August 14 when they open for Waiting For Henry as part of 90.5 FM’s Songwriters on the Beach summer concert series in Belmar, NJ. The free concert takes place at 7:00pm on the Belmar Beach at 5th and Ocean Avenue.

Ed Tang & the Chops is composed of Ed Tang on vocals and acoustic rhythm guitar, Brad Harrison on drums and percussion, Geoffrey Meyers on lead guitar, Nick Bock on bass, and Vic Fraternale on keyboards and harmonica.
