)-- This week Renatus Media presented a new match 3 title to Facebook community. The US-based publishing company known for discovery and launch of over 30 multi-genred titles for Facebook, Android, iOS and occasionally Amazon, released Candy Dale.
The game has a beautiful setting, a candy world inhabited by sweets and itself made of all kinds of tasty looking confectionery. Its balanced gameplay looks promising enough to lure players in beating 80 well-polished match 3 levels. Every next level is unlike the previous one, with different board structure and goals, so boredom is the last thing one might feel while playing it.
Trace the line sounds kind of odd, some would say. Actually, it’s a kind of match 3 mechanics that requires player to connect a ‘line’ of tiles that match in color with a finger (on mobile) or a сursor (on PC). In Candy Dale, this mechanics looks great as candies start to tremble in quite a funny way, as if unwilling to be matched.
Along with it, the app has loads of other funny looking things, like combos or animations on the map showing the player’s progress. The visuals create a warm, cosy atmosphere of childhood, while match 3 puzzles are obviously designed for parents.
Don’t think that candies are the only sweet elements on the game board. Chocolate bars, honey, crackers, and for some kind of reason mushrooms will try to spoil the whole fun.
Despite the abundance of candy-themed gaming apps, Renatus took a shot. And something tells that it hit the bull’s eye. Foreseeing that, the game publisher is already working to port Candy Dale to mobile platforms. As reported, the Android and iOS versions will be launched in a month or so after the original one.
