"Villisca" explores one of America's greatest unsolved mysteries, the 1912 Villisca, Iowa axe murders.

The film examines the still-unsolved mystery and its lasting effects on the small rural community, and explores various suspects, including a convicted mass murderer from Columbia, Missouri.

The documentary film qualified for the 2005 Academy Award competition, had a limited theatrical release, was released nationally on DVD last year, and is now being broadcast on Midwestern Public Television stations.

The Rundle’s new documentary "Lost Nation: The Ioway" premiered in Des Moines, Iowa with nearly 200 Ioway Tribal members from the Iowa Tribe of Kansas/Nebraska and Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma in attendance. The Rundles were presented with honorary memberships from the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma.

The film will be featured in upcoming showings throughout Midwestern states this fall and winter; and at the Beloit International Film Festival in January 2008.

"Lost Nation" tells a nearly forgotten story of the Ioway people, who once claimed all of Iowa and Northern Missouri as their territory.
