UAE’s Anti-Ageing Medicine Elite to Meet at ICAAM Middle East This Weekend

Symposium to reveal latest anti-aging techniques and trends being used across the UAE & GCC.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, December 06, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The International Congress in Aesthetics, Anti-Aging Medicine & Medical Spa (ICAAM) Middle East, organised by Informa Life Sciences Exhibitions, opens tomorrow Friday 5th December and continues on to Saturday December 6th at the Conrad Hotel, Dubai. The anti-ageing event will also feature live surgery sessions held on Sunday 7th December at the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Hospital, Dubai.

Local and internationally recognised experts, from across the medical aesthetic spectrum, will reveal the latest anti-aging techniques and trends being used across the UAE and wider Middle East.

According to Simon Page, Managing Director, Informa Life Sciences Exhibitions, “This year, we have further expanding the event by featuring hands-on training sessions and introducing industry seminars that give the visitors a chance to train themselves on the newest technology in the aesthetic industry. The event is expected to draw more than 1000 experts and professionals in the field of aesthetic dermatology and plastic surgery from the UAE and abroad.”

Some of the topics covered at ICAAM Middle East include the risks of facelift surgery, fat grafting in the UAE, Google Glass in anti-ageing medicine, the use of lasers for hair reduction in darker skin types, complications with fillers and new techniques to fix the double chin problem.

Special training sessions will be held on laser therapy and hair transplant procedures, as these are two of the most popular anti-ageing procedures in the UAE.

The live surgeries are very unique to ICAAM Middle East as plastic surgeons are able to get world-class education by actually watching a surgery in action. The procedures featured in this year’s live surgery sessions are live breast augmentation, dimple creation, open-closed rhinoplasty and Asian eye-lid surgery.

“Dimple creation has increased in demand in the past decade as people became aware of it being part of the beauty features of some of the most prominent iconic superstars such as Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz and John Travolta. As plastic surgeons, we found an easy and safe way to create the dimple feature with minimum downtime and maximum satisfaction. The procedure is usually performed in an office setting with pure local anesthesia. Results appear immediately and can be adjusted with time,” says Dr Firas Hamdan, Cosmetic Surgeon, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Hospital, Dubai.
