North Carolina Crowdfunding Investment Advisor, Thomas Vass, Ranked in Global Top 1.5% of Economic Writers

Social Science Research Network (SSRN) Releases World Author Rankings for 270,000 Writers.

Wilmington, NC, February 01, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Social Science Research Network (SSRN.com), the world’s #1 Open Access Repository for scholarly articles (http://repositories.webometrics.info/toprep.asp), released its year end 2014 global rankings for economic authors.

According to data released on January 28, 2015, by Dr. Michael C. Jensen, Managing Director of Social Science Electronic Publishing, Inc., articles by crowdfunding investment advisor, Thomas Vass, have been downloaded over 5,800 times, placing him in the top 1.5% of all authors on the global SSRN platform.

Article abstracts of his writings have been viewed over 36,000 times since he began adding articles to the platform. All of his scholarly articles are available for free at: http://ssrn.com/author=831853

“I published my new ebook, Accredited Investor Crowdfunding, in August of 2014,” said Vass, "And many of my articles added in the past 12 months on SSRN are excerpts from my book. In the past year, I have also written a series of management guidelines for technology CEOs on how to use crowdfunding on the global crowdfunding website, CrowdSourcing.org.”

“My interest in accredited investor crowdfunding is primarily about how existing, small operational technology companies can obtain small amounts of capital to support company growth,” Vass explained. “I have recently initiated an effort in the North Carolina General Assembly to modify and improve a legislative proposal on crowdfunding in order to make the law more company-friendly, and less skewed towards benefiting existing established capital market interests.”

“When small companies obtain capital, they make significant economic contributions to their local economy in terms of job growth,” he added. “The current proposal in the North Carolina General Assembly is defective for making economic progress in our State,” he explained.

Vass said that his economic research on accredited investor crowdfunding leads him to the conclusion that the new method of raising capital will require extensive front end marketing and media relations for small firms that want to undertake a private placement.
