Major Pan-European Operator Expands Deployment of RAD’s Service Assured Access Solutions

RAD won a contract with a major western European carrier for IP and Carrier Ethernet demarcation equipment to improve backhaul performance, migrate TDM traffic, and enable Carrier Ethernet services.

Mahwah, NJ, June 19, 2015 --(PR.com)-- A major Western European Tier 1 service provider is now expanding its deployment of RAD’s award-winning Service Assured Access (SAA) solutions. The order is valued at more than $20 million dollars over three years.

The RAD solutions, based on the award winning ETX family of IP and Carrier Ethernet demarcation and aggregation devices, will enable 3G and 4G LTE backhaul with deep network and service visibility. Such capabilities enhance users’ experience and reduce churn while improving operational efficiency. Other applications include the migration of TDM traffic to the packet-switched network, the leasing of fiber bandwidth to competitive service providers that do not have their own access infrastructure and the provisioning of 1 GbE and 10 GbE Carrier Ethernet business services over both fiber and DSL.

“With the growing challenges of capacity, over-the-top applications and deteriorating revenues from traditional services, service providers must rapidly introduce creative new offerings while increasing operational efficiency and reducing cost,” explains Ulik Broida, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at RAD.

“RAD’s SAA solutions help them increase revenue and lower TCO throughout the service lifecycle.“With our comprehensive SAA service lifecycle toolkit, we make it easier for service providers to plan, deploy and maintain resilient services with predictable QoS and better QoE for end users.”

“We see this as yet another acknowledgement of the confidence that service providers have in our Service Assured Access solutions, which have been deployed the world over,” states Franck Darmon, RAD’s Vice President of Sales, Europe. “In this case, the projects in which our ETX demarc devices will be used are at the beginning of their lifecycle. The provider’s plans for the expansion of their Carrier Ethernet services will lead to thousands more units to be ordered in the course of the next several years.”
