Spintelligent Training Academy to Explore the Business Opportunities in the Renewable Energy Sector

Johannesburg, South Africa, October 14, 2015 --(PR.com)-- “We have learned from the industry that there are many potential role players for the renewable sector yet without a clear strategy they are certain to fail.” So says Daniel Swanepoel, lead facilitator of the upcoming course in Business Strategies for Renewable Energies that is taking place from 29-30 October in Johannesburg. The course, presented by the Spintelligent Training Academy, will be interactive and a networking opportunity to help stakeholders identify and exploit regional opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

Daniel explains: “Knowledge sharing and access to information remain the biggest challenges within the renewable space. It is also a sector that changes constantly with technological advancements yet at the same time one also needs to understand the political environment within target countries. This being said, we will also look at country specific risks or requirements through to sector specific realities, for example, enough irradiation for solar etc. and towards the second day we determine with the delegates a best approach for a possible project within a specific country or sub-sector taking all aspects into consideration.”

Overview of the renewable industry
Daniel Swanepoel has a solid background in corporate banking, is specialised in leadership and management development training in the energy sector on the African continent and consults on power projects.

“We start the course by providing a complete overview of the industry,” he says adding: “this means, by definition, we break it down into the main components of renewables being solar, hydro, wind, geothermal, biomass, biogas through to what we call ‘clever technologies’ today. Thereafter we look at possible new trends and lessons learned from other projects. With this as a baseline we start to build a possible business case with the delegates where we analyse perceptions versus the realities and we begin the journey towards a strategic plan for market entry into the renewable space.”

Latest case studies
Daniel Swanepoel says the course in Johannesburg will “Certainly include some of the case studies presented at the recent SAIREC 2015 conference in Cape Town and we will also share some learning experiences of other role players in the industry. An important note for potential delegates is that we customise the course two weeks prior to facilitation to ensure we focus within the desired objectives and demographics of our delegates. For example, for East Africa we will certainly look more closely into geothermal energy whereas on the West African side we will explore solar options and others.”
