Building Friendship Skills…the Key to Success! Local Personal Development Center Dedicates February 2016 to Friendship!

“The best friends see greatness in you and then hold up a mirror so you can see it too.” -Dr. Robyn Silverman – Kuk Sool Won(tm) of Menlo Park’s Child Development Expert

Menlo Park, CA, February 03, 2016 --(PR.com)-- February 2016 is Friendship Month as part of Kuk Sool Won(tm) of Menlo Park’s Powerful Words Character Development program! All students will be studying, developing and experiencing powerful life lessons focusing on understanding the importance of choosing and developing relationships based on mutual interest, care, respect and trust. In addition to all of the physical skills that they'll be working on this month, students will be discussing and practicing the following concepts both in and out of class:

- Friendship defined: What is a friend? How can I make and be a good friend?
- Dealing with conflict: Sharing, turn-taking and dealing with hurt feelings.
- Loyalty and friendship: How can we balance trust, safety and fairness?
- Differences & friends: Celebrating diversity, showing gratitude & helping.

“Friendship is more than just having fun. It’s a crucial part of children’s normal social and emotional development. Through friendships, children learn important skills such as: Sharing, Compromise, Assertiveness, Listening, Problem-solving, Critical thinking, Nurturing and Accepting others,” says Dr. Robyn Silverman, Kuk Sool Won(tm) of Menlo Park child & adolescent expert, and creator of the Powerful Words Character Development system used at the facility.

Kristin Quintana, Chief Instructor of Kuk Sool Won(tm) of Menlo Park says, "Friendship, at it’s core, is easily the most important skill we work on here. I’ve always felt that if I could help every single member to simply make a friend here, I know it will lead to a more enjoyable experience. In addition, having a training buddy is sure to help motivate them to keep training so that they can reach their goals. The ability to form friendships will help our members to lead a more fulfilled life outside of our facility and truly help them become winners at the game of life. We’re all excited to see the positive impact that this month’s Powerful Words Curriculum has on our students as well as on our entire community. That’s what it’s all about for us and we take this very seriously.

"It’s a pleasure seeing our community recognized as a place with Powerful Character, and seeing our students lead the way! As this community’s premier Powerful Personal Development Center, we take this responsibility very seriously. We’re thrilled to help our students and our community to thrive and succeed, and Friendship month is going to help us to do just that.

"Kuk Sool Won(tm) of Menlo Park’s strong curriculum and the Powerful Words Character Development system provide our students with the opportunities to become unstoppable in life. These lessons will remain with our students for life and we're honored to help them achieve the success that they deserve,” says Quintana.
