Kalman & Pabst Photo Group’s 2016 Fine Art Show Opens May 13th

Staff-Curated Show to Benefit The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland

Kalman & Pabst Photo Group (KP Photo) will shine the spotlight on their staff as they transform their 18,000 square foot commercial photo studio into a dazzling display of their team’s creative talents at the 2016 Fine Art Show, May 13-14.

The 2016 Fine Art Show is an “all-hands on-deck” endeavor and a part of KP Photo’s long-running tradition of fostering their staff’s creative efforts outside of the studio. More than 600 beautiful pieces of travel photography, illustrations and fine art will be on display and for sale to the public.

“The Fine Art Show’s history traces back to more than a decade ago when studio co-founders Jan Kalman and Bob Pabst expressed their desire to promote the creativity and talent here in Northeast Ohio,” said co-owner Craig Brown. “It was Jan and Bob’s gift to honor the staff who work tremendously hard to serve our clients all year long.” Brown added: “The staff are all accomplished artists, outside of their work in the studio, so the Fine Art Show was created as a way to recognize their efforts by displaying their personal work for art-loving audiences.”

While the focus is on the staff, Brown acknowledges that the show’s tradition is equally steeped in philanthropy. “We have always looked to assist an area non-profit by donating a percentage of art sales, as well as raffle ticket sales, to their organization.” Brown added: “We are extremely pleased to be assisting The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland this year as we have come to learn that there are over 150,000 residents of Cleveland who struggle with poverty and one in three have great difficulty in affording the meals they need. These statistics, coupled with our extensive work in food photography, really raised the staff’s awareness and we take great pride in being able to help them through our art sales.”

The Kalman & Pabst Photo Group 2016 Fine Art show takes place at 3907 Perkins Ave. Cleveland, OH 44114 and opens Friday, May 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a special opening night reception, complete with food, drinks and live entertainment. Admission to the event is free. Audiences will have one final chance to see the show on Saturday, May 14th from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Due to the provided food, drink and entertainment, RSVP’s for Friday night are strongly encouraged. About The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland
Over 30 years ago, cuts in public welfare programs and the national recession led the Interchurch Council of Greater Cleveland to create the Hunger Taskforce to address the increasing need for emergency food for children in Cuyahoga County. In 1995, with the help and blessing of the Cuyahoga County commissioners, the Hunger Taskforce became an independent organization renamed the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland.

The mission of the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland is to reduce hunger in our community by providing food and links to other vital services for the hungry, especially children and families, by actively participating in a coordinated response to people in need.
