AMCA Re-Certification for Eastern Sheet Metal’s Spiral Duct

Eastern Sheet Metal spiral duct recently passed all requirements to bear the AMCA Certified Ratings Seal applying to Air Leakage Ratings.

Cincinnati, OH, May 13, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Eastern Sheet Metal has received re-certification from The Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International, Inc., a third-party organization that develops and maintains standard methods of testing for rating air movement and control products.

Eastern Sheet Metal spiral duct has been AMCA Publication 511 certified since 2010, passing all requirements to bear the AMCA Certified Ratings Seal applying to Air Leakage Ratings. The 24-inch diameter, 22 gauge duct, and 10 feet long test sample underwent the ASHRAE 126 Spiral Duct Leakage test and the Bubble test to ensure no endcap leakage was detected and passed on both accounts. The test results encompass the following established baseline gauge values of 24-inch diameter duct: 26, 24, 22, 20, 18, 16, and 14.

“Eastern Sheet Metal is one of a select few spiral manufacturers that offer AMCA certified spiral duct,” says Patrick Brooks, Eastern Sheet Metal General Manager. “ASHRAE 90.1 clearly states that spiral seams do not have to be sealed, and we have the certification to prove it.”

The re-certification is good through January 2019.
