The qualification covers multiple art disciplines such as graphic design, art, photography, video technology, games design, web design and animation.

Second year students are currently working on their final year major project, the students have chosen a discipline to specialise in after working in a variety of disciplines over the past two years. The work the students are producing will be exhibited at the final art show in June, many students will be moving onto study one of the disciplines at University. Maninder Padam, Graphic Design lecturer, commented, "I am proud the students have exceeded their skills and are now confident practitioners, I’m looking forward to presenting their work at the end of year show."

The first year students are currently completing the Graphic Design unit after finishing the stop motion component of the qualification. In the students’ second year, they will be doing the film unit, web design and graphic design and choose a discipline to specialise in for the final art show. Nick Williams, NSC’s Film, Video and Web Design lecturer, commented, "I hope the skills they are developing will take them forward onto bigger and better things."

Part of the qualification is the research of different artistic styles and materials. Art and Design lecturer, Jon Wilkes, commented on this aspect saying, "At the moment my students are doing a media, materials and techniques project, in the past few weeks they have looked at working in clay, collage and origami as well as photography. They have researched a number of artists who use sculpture and in the next few weeks my students will be working on making a 3D head, some students will be looking at games designers who make and use models in their work."

The final art show will be opening to the public on Monday 13th June at 5pm.
